Whenever we fall down, He is there to pick us up again
With the Christmas season still upon, I thought we could take the time today to truly reflect on how wonderful a gift this really is for us humanity.
Today, I want to share with you a story that I heard a few years ago.
There was a little boy who came before baby Jesus in the manger, and asked Him what He wanted for His birthday. He offered Him his new train set, his favorite toy, and his favorite book. Baby Jesus in that moment told him that He didn’t want those things. Instead, He wanted that D that he got on his math test. He wanted that cup that he broke when he got made. And He wanted the anger that he had when he got mad at his mom.
This story spoke to me, because it made me think about the purpose of Christ’s birth. Christ didn’t come into this world to be showered with the many riches of this world. He came to take on the suffering and wounds of this world. To take up our sins and to carry them to the cross. That was the purpose of His birth, to teach us His ways to strive for holiness. But to show us also that whenever we fall down, He is there to pick us up again, to take on our struggles and failures.
Christ did not come into this world to condemn it. He came into our world to save us to be able to get to heaven.
What are the things in your life that you are struggling with that you could offer baby Jesus? What are the areas in your life that you need His help?
Give all of this to our Lord today who is waiting for you in the manger.
Praying for you all.
