Trusting in God's Timing
Updated: Dec 21, 2018
My dearest sisters,
Often times, I found myself asking God "When will it be my turn?" As I look on social media, my pages are filled with engagements, weddings, and babies. And all I kept wanting to say, when will it be my turn? When will I find the man that you have designed for me?
But I went to a retreat a weekend ago, and the speaker said something that really hit home for me. "Comparison is the theif of joy". When we compare our lives to those of around us, it's easy to feel saddened when we don't have that special someone, or are not expecting a little buddle of joy. But what we often forget to see is the joys of singlehood or of living in the present.
I was speaking to a friend a few days ago, and I realized that God has given me my time of singlehood to work more on evangelizing and to work on this beautiful ministry. He has given me so many gifts to thrive in my work, to start new projects and to help those in my everyday life. He has blessed me with so many beautiful friendships, which push me to grow in holiness on the daily.
I may not have everything that I want, but I am grateful for my season of singleness to be able to do what God is calling me to do right now.
My sisters, those of you who are single, I call to you today to see one of the blessings of singleness in your life! Why is God calling you to be single right now? Is it to teach you something? Is it to prepare you for something? Does He need you to do His work first?
I want you to say to God today, "Lord, thank you for my season of singleness, because I can... (Evangelize, travel, build friendship, serve you etc.) whatever it may be, praise God for your singleness!
In Christ, Diana
