The words we say and how we speak to others...
There was a man who was very sick and had cancer of his mouth. The doctors tried many different treatment programs. However, nothing work and they decided that they had to operate and to remove his tongue. When the day of the operation came, and the man was lying on the operation table, the doctors asked if there was anything that he wanted to say to be his last words. The man opened his mouth and said “All praise and glory to God.”
How many times have we used this precious gift that God has given to us, our tongues, to tear down others? How many times have we used it to gossip? How many times have we used it to lie? How many times have we swore or used God’s name in vain?
Our tongues are such a small muscle in our body, and sometimes it can truly do the most work. The words we say and how we speak to others, all can be done in a way that brings about peace and love into the world. When you think about the value of our words, we should truly only use them for good.
Today, I want you to think about the things that you have said that have affected someone. Have you used words to build other up or to tear them down? We may not be able to take back anything we say, but we definitely can fix what we have broken.
Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. –Proverbs 16:24
Our lips and tongue should be especially used to praise the Lord, for His goodness to us. All praise and glory to GOD!
Praying for you.
