"For the LORD your God has blessed you in all that you have done; He has known your wanderings through this great wilderness These forty years the LORD your God has been with you; you have not lacked a thing." ~Deuteronomy 2:7
Have you ever experienced a dryness in your life and faith? A time where nothing makes any sense? Sometimes you can feel distant from others, and even from God. This is a place of solitude. I like to call this place the desert.
Now to some this may seem scary, the idea of feeling alone and wandering through the desert. But if you think about it, how long did the Israelites wander in the desert. 40 years! Sometimes it takes that long to truly find God's voice, and to be able to fulfill His call for our lives.
This can be because of our own sinfulness, stubbornness and in the choice that we make, to not allow God to be apart of our lives.
However, sometimes God will call us into His desert, because He needs us to spend time with just Him. To search for Him. To distance ourselves from everything else, so that we maybe able to focus on just Him. This can be why we feel lonely, and feel that things are not working out the way we expect.
The desert doesn't have be scary. I know it may seem that way. But even as we feel alone, we must realize that we never are. Christ is waiting in that desert to spend time with you. He has something to teach you.
In Christ, Diana
