St. Padre Pio, Pray for Us
I particularly like this quote, as it is a humble reminder that as humans, we are predestined to have the ability to sin and fail. And because we are not perfect, we will do just that in our lifetime: sin and fail over and over again. Our weakness is made perfect, though, through Him. Without God, we cannot do anything. Sin and failure become a thing of the past when we consistently turn to Him in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Padre Pio would spend most of his days in the confessional hearing the confessions of people. People would travel from near and far to have the opportunity to go to Padre to hear their confession. He had the incredible God-given gift to read souls in which tens of thousands of people have given their own personal account. Confession was so important to this incredible Saint, and with good reason. It is where we are able to make the resolution to turn away from sin and start anew, continuing down our path toward sainthood.
If we are able to sin, we must be able to also, in humility, turn away from sin and do penance. Just as Mary Magdalene turned away from her life of sin, we are called to do the same.
St. Padre Pio, thank you for this reminder. Pray for us!
