One thing that I have grown up doing a lot is praying with those around me, whether it be my family or friends.
Last year, I took a big leap and moved hours away from my loved ones who were also my hub for spiritual community. Being away from them for so long and not seeing them on the regular has prompted me to feel this emptiness within my heart, as though something is missing.
It is so important for us to have a community founded on Christ where we live. We are not meant to live alone, but are called to come together and praise God. That's why the body of Christ is so important in our lives, because we are there to support one another and lean on each other.
A few weeks ago, Sandra wrote a reflection about an experience we shared with one of our fellow sisters and how we prayed with her before her wedding. When Sandra got married a few weeks ago, the three of us gathered again and prayed with her as well. It was amazing to be able to pray over and with our fellow sister in Christ before she received such a huge sacrament. But the reason that it is so incredibly profound when we pray with others, is because Christ Himself said, when we gather in His name, He is there with us. When we pray with one another, Christ is in our midst. This moment was even more special, because Christ was present as we asked Him to bless her and her marriage.
Take some time today, if you have the opportunity to pray with your family members or your friends. Remember, that we need each other, need to pray with each other and for one another.
I am praying for you all.
In Christ, Diana
