Our Bodies are Unique
Updated: Dec 22, 2018
Last month we explored how our bodies are not just something that we have, but they ARE us! Body and soul are completely interconnected.
Today I wanted to focus on the uniqueness of that bond. Let’s start with a question again. We can all agree that our bodies have a gender, they are female. What about our souls? Are they also female? The answer is…YES! If your body is you, and you are female, then your soul is also female because it is also you! Going along with this same thought…when you die is your soul able to enter into someone else’s body or another creature’s body? The answer is…NO. If your body is uniquely you and not something that you can switch around, and your soul is uniquely you as well…then they are the only ones that fit together. It would be like putting a square peg into a circle hole, it won’t fit.
The Catechism affirms this in Paragraph 1013: "Death is the end of man's earthly pilgrimage, of the time of grace and mercy which God offers him so as to work out his earthly life in keeping with the divine plan, and to decide his ultimate destiny. When "the single course of our earthly life" is completed,we shall not return to other earthly lives: 'It is appointed for men to die once.' There is no "reincarnation" after death."
Even if we go beyond the Catechism, we have not had any proof of reincarnation as a possibility. Anytime there have been visions or apparitions of Christ, Mary or any of the saints, they always appear in their own bodies. Never has there been an indication of a soul entering into another body and restarting their life. It would make absolutely no sense knowing the identity of the body and soul are completely and uniquely a single person.
Taking this concept to heart, I want you to focus on how do you take care of your body and soul together? Interconnect the physical with the spiritual!
Join us next month when we will uncover the one of the greatest heresies that came into the Church and has been continuing to this day.
