Love God whole heartedly
Over the past few days, I have really been struggling with my emotions and finding the right words to express what I have been feeling with the current state of the world.
I still can’t seem to find the right words that might express what is taking place in my heart and in my head. But having done a lot of research, both on secular and Catholic platforms, I can see the pain in a lot of people — pain that something is not right.
As a white woman, I won’t say I understand what my Black brothers and sisters in Christ are having to deal with. But like what Jackie Francois said a few days ago: when one member of the mystical Body of Christ is in pain, the whole Body aches.
Sadly, what is causing this ache in our Body is sin:
Sin resulting from the lack of love for one another.
Sin because we don’t see each other as valued members of this Body of Christ.
Sin because we don’t see life as sacred from conception to natural death.
Sin because we can tear each other down with our words and our actions.
Sin that pins us against one another.
My dearest sisters,
It is time for us to rebuild a society that is focused on God, because it is only then that we can live in a world that loves one another and sees Christ within the other person.
Now is the time to come together and pray for a conversion of faith around the world. It should NOT be a time that we stand against one another, but instead, unite in a coming together where love for one another is the focus.
Let us not forget the greatest commandments that Jesus gave to us:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39)
When we love God whole heartedly, then we can love others better.
Let us strive today to love as Christ has called us to love.
Praying for you all.
