I Will Follow You
In today's Gospel, Christ calls people to follow Him, but they gave Him excuses why they could not in that moment.
This made me think how often Christ calls us to follow Him. And we tend to say Lord I will follow you, if only I can be successful, if only I can find the man of my dreams, if only I can finish university. Or whatever it is that you say.
What do we put ahead of our relationship with God? Is it our family? Our desires for success or for the future? Do we say Lord I will follow you if you give me this or that?
You aren't the only one, I have seen this in my own life. I can say that I have put my desires before God. Especially my desires for a future. If your desires/goals become more important to you, than your relationship with God, than you have created this into an idol. God should always come first. It should be God first, or nothing at all.
Today Christ is saying, "Follow Me."
What will your response be?
Will you say, "I will if only..."
Or will you say, "Yes Lord, I will follow You."
Praying for you all.
In Christ, Diana
