"I gave my life to our Mother Mary"
"I would describe myself as outgoing, outspoken and someone with a big gregarious personality. But I have always mourned that I am not gentle and quiet. Sometimes, I would think: “Why did you make me this way Lord? Why do I not have those gifts or qualities?”
I met this woman who was truly such a gentle spirit, and I kept thinking to myself, “What is it about her?”. When I spoke with her about it, she asked me if I had ever done the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. At the time, I hadn’t but I desired to have the same spirit of gentleness as her. She gave me a copy of St. Louie De Monforte’s Consecration to Mary.
Through the book, I gave my life to our Mother Mary and asked her to guide me. The beautiful thing about having Mary as our Mother is that she heals the areas of our hearts that our own mothers fail at. We expect things from our earthly mothers that they cannot give us, while Mary can. We all need a perfect best friend and mother, to feel mothered by. She is going to protect us in this world. She will nurture us and console us. She is the epitome of the greatest woman, someone we should all strive to be more like. As a Catholic woman, I hope that more women become inspired to be like Our Heavenly Mother and to go to her to get to her Son.
I formed my ministry Dynamic Women of Faith to gather women to do God’s work. The mission statement our tag line is: “Get Inspired, Discover your Mission and Do Something for God.”
In partnership with the Archdiocese of Toronto, I have been working with a remarkable team of volunteers to start Mother’s Groups in parishes across the archdiocese. We are on a mission to revive the vocation of motherhood.
Mary knew her mission. She emulates for us what it means to truly serve God. We too can serve Him in the simplest of ways; whether that be through helping the poor, picking up garbage on the highways, visiting the sick, or taking care of our family members.
We need to become inspired to serve God. We must discover what call God has for in our lives. Then do it wholeheartedly in service of Him."
