Growing Each Day

Growth requires asking more of ourselves. Growth requires looking at ourselves with humility and uncovering areas we need to work on. Growth requires practical actions that challenge us each day.

Perhaps you struggle with temper. Today, if a conversation leaves you upset with a colleague, friend, or loved one, before speaking with anger or frustration, take a deep breathe and do the opposite. Speak with kindness and patience. In that moment, you grow.

Perhaps you struggle with thinking about the other. Today, go out of your way to do something nice for a stranger or loved one. Whether it's simply smiling at them, asking a cashier how his or her day is so far, paying someone a genuine compliment, or paying for the person behind you at the drive-thru, do something extra for another person. In that moment, you grow.

Perhaps you struggle with expressing gratitude. Today, pay extra attention to the moments of your day, focusing on the little blessings God has given you. Thank Him for these blessings and share this gratitude with others. Thank your colleague for making a fresh pot of coffee, thank your spouse or parent for making dinner, thank your friend for being there for you. In that moment, you grow.

Take a moment to think on what area in your life you are struggling with and do one thing today that will challenge you to overcome it, even if it's in a small way. If you do this each day, you will look back in a months time and see the huge progress you have made.

Remember, it all starts with the little things to make a big impact.

With love, Kasia
