Find Our Worth
This past weekend I was at a conference, and the priest said something that really touched my soul. He said, "God cannot show you your purpose until you know who you are."
This deeply touched my heart, because I find that a lot of us women don't know who we truly are and don't see our own value and our own strength.
If we look at the Annunciation and the way that Mary became the Mother of God, it is a perfect example of how we are to find our worth.
In the Hebrew translation of the Bible, it says that the Angel on the Lord entered into Mary and she heard this voice from within greeting her. He told her that she had found favor with God and would bear a Son.
Then when she went to see Elizabeth, she says to her cousin:
"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked on the humble estate of His servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name..."
Mary here knows who she is in God's eyes, and because of this awareness of who she is, God uses her to be the mother of His son. She never shied away from her mission. She knew her identity and praised God for who she was.
My dearests sisters, let us become more like Mary. Let us rejoice in who we are in the Lord. You, my dear sisters, are so precious and loved in the eyes of the Lord. You have a great mission here on earth as well. But to be able to complete that mission, you must know who you are.
Praying for you always.
In Christ, Diana
