A better kind of movie-watching



Pure Flix may be something worth considering to help us focus on the good and the beautiful. It is amazing how much our bodies, our minds, and our souls are interconnected. What we feed one impacts the rest, and therefore our whole being so, no matter how much we try to convince ourselves that "it's no big deal" to watch things that, deep down, we know leave us empty, the fact remains that what we take in matters. In fact, we hear St. Paul sharing the same message of intentionality (Philippians 4:8):


"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things"


Here is where PureFlix could help support our goal to live more wholesome and focused Christian lives. It is a Christian media platform where you will find movies, series, and documentaries. Movies are categorized by theme, including, but NOT limited to action, thriller, drama, educational, classics, faith, comedy, and kids & family. Categories like "educational" are further segregated into topics like biographies, history, wellness, animals, war, and others. In watching, "Letters to Juliet" a few weeks back, I also noticed that inappropriate language was removed and provocative apparel was blurred, which is a stark contrast to other platforms, who seem to have few boundaries.


I totally get the instinct to write this platform off, but I urge you to give it a shot, because you might be pleasantly surprised, as I was. It's true that it's not like the non-religious counterparts, but wholesome, yet well-produced, content is just such a breath of fresh air. In addition to this, some of it's educational content, such as focused on the bible series or faith-related topics (i.e. evolution and creationism), is incredibly beneficial! Anyways, give some thought to trying PureFlix out, for free, for 7 days, and then you can decide whether or not it's worth paying for!



PS - Yes, the series "Chosen" IS on here! (as well as VeggieTales, fear not). Also, it is worth noting that pages take longer to load than they would on Netflix, but I have found the time reasonable. It just requires a little more patience than everything else that seems to be on-demand
